Episode 42-Jake and Amy.

WHAT THE HECK! I am heartbroken. I am totally disappointed and hurt. They are splitting! Just like that! In the last episode, with no room for making up! Ughhhh.

Whatever, I guess this was done to show that therapy might lead into happy endings like Sophie’s but at the end of the day, therapy is all about seeking the truth within ourselves, and sadly, the truth for Jake and Amy is that they can not stay together. This is horrible. I Feel depressed. I really had hopes for the two of them, I mean, even in this last episode they show synchronization. They were talking about Lenny and what it was like the first time they decided to teach him where babies came from. And they’re just sitting there finishing each other sentences, making their conversation really flow and making me think, wow, they have really good communication, or at least it seems like they have the potential to, why in hell can’t they work?

Amy asks Paul the same question. She says she can not understand. They are opposite poles, and opposite poles attract. Why isn’t it like that with them? Paul’s answer is, their relationship was based on passion. Which makes total sense. They basically met through a “messy” sexual encountered, she got pregnant, so they decided to marry. They saw the coming of their son to this world entirely different. She was depressed she had had a child, she felt like the world was too corrupted to bring a baby in meanwhile Jake, felt accomplished. Genuinely renewed, as if he had been the mother. This already sets them greatly apart. They didn’t even find joy in common things, not even something so meaningful, the greatest thing they might have made together, which was their kid. The only thing that kept them together was the sex.

So they start talking about Lenny’s custody, and they’ve decided that it will be joint custody and Amy then confesses that she has lost her job because she got fired. Bob’s got a wife and he wants her nowhere near him. WOW. That BIG mistake had serious repercussions. She lost her job and her marriage.

This really sucks, I feel like I am being left in limbo. They still seems like they love each other, they walk out of therapy and Paul does nothing to fix it I guess I’ll just give this a 5 because of the compelling acting, but not because I am in anyway content with the way this is ending. Shouldn’t there be some closure? This has left me feeling incomplete.

Episode 41- Sophie week 9.

Amazing episode. 5 right away. So week 8 is when she had that super big break through and she was being nice to her mother for a change. Well, this last episode is just the cherry on top. She has REALLY grown.

Turns out as she is arriving in therapy and her father welcomes her in front of Paul’s house. I am shocked, and so is she. The funny/good thing is, she isn’t shocked in a positive way. Instead she barely even makes face expression and seems more confused and unpleased than anything. She is being totally dry, not hugging him back and questions what he is doing there. The father goes on t talk about how much he has missed her and how he cannot sleep or eat when he doesn’t hear from her, and Sophie replies that he has not attempted to call her, but that she ahs called him and he never picks up the phone. The says that MOM ALWAYS picks up the phone. IMPORTANT. She is now realizing that is her mother whom she owes her love to, and not her careless stupid dad.

Zach, (that is his name) tries to go into therapy with her, but of course Paul doesn’t let him in so fast. He asks Sophie if she wants him in , and Sophie refuses. That’s a big statement for somebody who will drop anything she was doing for her father and now wont even let her into her privacy.

Big changes. Sophie confronts him and tells him that he did not even raise her, that he does not even know her. That if he loved her as much as he said he did, he would have taken her when he moved to New York and not chosen his girlfriend over her. On top of that she says that the person that truly knows her is Paul. And that she does not want to talk him or hear his apologies because saying sorry will not put a family back together and will not reconstruct the time he did not spend with her.

Sophie ends up kicking him out of therapy, crying, and is actually pretty shocked at herself. And this is the resolution we have been waiting for. For her to take the blindfold off her eyes and realize that her father was not that great, and that he wasn’t the most responsible one and that his love is questionable.

Finally, the foreshadowing of Paul “murdering” her dad in her dream comes true in this episode. She chooses therapy over her father and clearly lets him know that Paul has been more of a paternal figure that he has been.

I can finally say that she matured. That was brave and rational of her to confront her father so boldly, it felt like a fresh air. The episode ends with her saying that she will be going away to Denver to train because she needs some time to take care of herself alone. She says her mother will understand.

The episode ends with a big hug between the two of them and ironically Rosie walking right after Sophie’s gone. In the background we can see Sophie and her father talking, sitting on the grass. I guess this means that she isn’t totally vanishing Zach from her life, but that it might be a new beginning. I new phase of her life. A chance to erase her childhood past and build a new young woman stage of her life, with her father by her side.

Episode 30-Gina week 6.

This is the therapy before the whole ”imago” thing went on during week seven, and man, did they need to listen to each other. Week 6 was just MESSY.

First it starts off with Rosie. She has been missing for 24 hours and has not called home or anything. Of course they’re concerned but Kate’s attitude towards the whole situation is just so understanding. I wish my mother was like that. She just feels like Rosie is in that age where she will get in trouble, etc while Paul just can not conceive the thought of his little girl (who he pays o attention to by the way, because he is too busy thinking about Laura) might be out on the streets acting naughty. Here is where we learn about “The center” where Rosie works, which was actually founded by Kate herself. Isn’t this amazing? This woman is just so valuable. On top of having to deal with her family drama, she still has the courage, and the energy to help others. I mean, she really is a selfless individual. Rosie started to help out about six months ago, but Gina is too concerned she is spending too much time dealing with other people’s issues at such a young age. She volunteers 4 days a week and Gina believes that her dedication isn’t only because it is in her nature to help others, but because she is troubled herself so in someway she feels identified with the people at the center. She also says that it isn’t a coincidence that she has not showed up at home, and is misbehaving. In fact, Rosie’s behavior might be a way of her attempting to fix her parent’s marriage. She feels like everytime she gets in trouble, she forces Kate and Paul to come together, act like a team and be functional. And although by week 6, we don’t really know if she already knew about Rome or not, it is pretty obvious when things aren’t going right at home and I’m sure Rosie senses that their parent’s marriage is coming apart.

Besides that, getting more into their marriage. This episode was just a repetition of what we already knew about Paul and Laura. What troubles me is the fact that Kate has to sit there listening to Paul say “I am in love with her” and listen to Gina say “This is why in love with her” I mean, it is no longer dubious. It went from being a possibility that he might have feelings for someone’s else to, “I do have feelings for someone else, now what” Anyway, Kate did mention something about seeing Laura walk out the office, I thought she had not. Funny thing is she ade some pretty harsh observations just from seeing her 2 minutes outside, while she was taking out the garbage and Laura was walking to her car. Kate said that she can’t believe Paul, that Laura just screams SEX, that is lame that he has been studying humans all of his life and he, himself has become such a cliché, being in love with a gorgeous, 20 years younger woman and leaving his middle aged wife for her. The tough part comes in when Gina makes it clear to Kate that NO, it isn’t a sexual infatuation that Paul has with her, and that he is actually in love with her. Because she is everything Kate used to be. (By the way, Kate made quite clear that she did not need Paul like she used to) so Gina’s conclusion is, Laura represents this young, fragile needy girl who wants Paul to be her everything, just like Kate made Paul her everything when they first met. And now that Kate has grown apart, Paul needs to fulfill that.

Then the next episode is when they have “imago” and well, Gina’s conclusion is repeated again. I kind of don’t really appreciate the repetition but its just fascinating how the SAME issues are basically brought up in every therapy with each patient and we, well I, just don’t notice it because by the time we get to the session that follows the same patient, we have already seen five others and have forgotten about what we learned about Laura last week. I give this 4. I feel like I have been lied to. Like I have been hypnotized into believing that I AM learning something new about each patient every week, but I am really not. I just cant remember.

Episode 29- Jake and Amy week 6.

This gets a 5 right away. Lets keep in mind that this is the episode before week 7 (duh) before she confessed to Jake that she had cheated. In fact, it was after therapy that she went and had sex with Ben, her boss, and she basically asked Paul for permission. Now in week 7, when she confessed, Paul seemed surprised to hear that she had cheated when in fact, he was basically an accomplice! He knew all along what she was going to do, he even knew that Ben was picking her up! Anyway, I don’t know why I’m making such a big deal about this, is not like he would have stopped her anyways. It’s just kind of sick that in week 7, when both Jake and Amy came in, he already knew what had happened, while Jake was absolutely clueless of the situation.

Now getting into Amy’s alone session. It was hilarious. She is just such an outspoken, strong woman. The entire time she was telling Paul about how he had screwed up her marriage because Jake was now a softy and the sex SUCKED. Hahaha! She said how ridiculously polite he was to her now, asking care what se liked, how she liked it and if she didn’t. Asked her if he could kiss her and would softly caress her. And she was just like “What have you turned him into? I mean, we would have the most wild rough sex. I could not even tell my girlfriends about it if they ever found out what we used to do, they would probably call the police” The point is, Amy just can not accept that Jake is loving her tenderly now. And it all reflects back to when she was a kid. It all has to do with her father. WAIT A MINUTE! COULD IT BE A COINSIDENCE THAT THE 3 FEMALES IN THE SHOW HAVE TRAUMA’S WITH THEIR FATHERS AND THEY ARE ALL RED-HAIRED AND IS JUST THE PRODUCER TRYING TO REPRESENT THE SAME WOMAN, (SORT OF) JUST IN DIFFERENT LIFE STAGES? AMY HATED HER MOTHER WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER, SOPHIE CURRENTLY DETESTS HER, AND LAURA, HER MOTHER DIED CAUSING HER ENTIRE LIFE TO WRECK. Definitely is.

Back to Amy. She just has this obsession with punishing herself. And, as we learned in week 7, she feels like it was her fault that her father died. She always has this sweet memory of her father being an extreme affectionate man. He would go into her room at night time, kiss her eyes and hold her face with her huge hands and then leave. And this reminds her of Jake now. She can’t understand his new caring behavior. She feels the need for her to scream at her, punish her, even in intimacy.

The episode finalized with Amy just begging Paul to please explain to Jake when he finds out, why she had sex with Ben. “Just tell him that I’m f-cked and could not help myself, tell him the truth” Then she gets up, goes into the bathroom and calls Jake, but he doesn’t pick up so she leaves a message, “I just wanted to see if I could get a hold of you and talk, say hello” I mean, this is a REAL act of guilt and helplessness. Here she is looking for anything that would hold her back from sleeping with Ben, because she just can not help herself. She needs to make herself suffer and maybe if Jake would have picked up then she could have made her feel loved, and made her believe that she does not have to punish herself, because he is willing to love her.

Sophie-Episode 28- Week 6.

I give this episode a 4. A lot of strong connections were made here with Sophie’s issues and her father. Actually I dare to say that this is the episode that marks Sophie paternal relationship as the number one factor of her problems but I just was not compelled by the acting. I feel like she could have put more passion into it. This was meaningful and supposed to be powerful episode. This is the first time Paul starts to shatter the fictitious image she has of her father. I can see it all clearly know, Paul working through one common issue throughout the entire season, and it’s a bit disappointing. Just because it gets repetitive. After week 7 and 8 it is more than clear than ever that her father is just a rock on the road. Had I seen week 6 when I was supposed to, I still would have felt like week 6 and 7 were repetitive either way. But I guess it is a slow process getting over things in real life, and that is why it is going to take her 4 weeks for her to conquer her complexes rooted by the unstable almost nonexistent relationship she has with her dad.

When she gets there, there is Pizza waiting for her, (that she has ordered herself) and she’s eating it with such gusto, and suddenly stops, doesn’t even finish her slice. Here we find out about her food disorder. She starts telling Paul that she sees food as her enemy. That for some reason she is the only person on earth that eats, lifts weights and doesn’t gain weight, like she is supposed to and he way Cy wants her too. She says it isn’t her fault that her body works abnormally and she doesn’t get hungry. That she could go by an entire day without eating anything. Then she makes a reference about her father and says that he told her that if the “gymnast thing” doesn’t work out he would definitely get her into the modeling business. Now, if we think about it, for some reason, Sophie’s father is the most important thing to her. Paul asks her how she feels about her weight and she proudly asks her that he loves it, she loves feeling like she could fit into a crack and disappear. And Paul right away makes the connection.

The only thing Sophie’s father ever wanted to be around was models. He left his family to go photograph models. He loves them, and is the only thing he lives for. On a quest to feel loved by the person who means the most to her, Sophie seeks to look thin, just like the models his father dates. Ironically there was a book of his works in the office, and Paul put it on the table. It has thin bodies on the cover and perfectly round breast. Now, I DO RECALL own extremely self conscious Sophie is about her breast as well. Paul makes sure he makes this known to her, how these images have had a great impact on her life and she totally flips. She tells Paul “f-ck you” and asked how dare he be like everyone else and talk bad about hi father. She says he thought he was different and even take the little wooden boat she gave to him and breaks it on the floor.

For a moment I thought that was going to be the end for the both of them, but then remembered it was week six and that she kept on going to therapy. Paul asks her to please not leave, makes her sit down and makes her realize what she’s doing to herself. He also tells her that he is aware that being on the beam is the only place where she feels safe and in control (repetitiveness) but that, that isn’t the only place where go. From now on, she could feel safe at the office too.

I’m glad I’m kind of seeing this last. Weeks 7 and 8 were much more exciting and dealt with basically the same thing. I guess that week 6 was the one in charge of setting things up for the climax, really making clear and establishing the turning points of the season.

Alex episode 27- Week 6.

So this episode is the one before his last session and we get to see a break through. This is also the episode after Paul physically aggressed Alex, and he came back. But he didn’t come back looking sharp and witty as usual. He came back into the office and it seemed as if he had woken up under a bridge or something, from a heavy night of drinking and we can already tell that this is going to be intense and emotional. And it was.

He goes in and already mentions the fact that he is considering flying again (I thought he had only considered it during week 7) and he also mentions the shrink. When he asks Paul’s if he thinks he is ready to fly again, Paul says no. Now the Alex from week 6 and wee 7 are totally different. I did mention that the therapy before his funeral he was looking fresh, like a new him. A more mellow Alex and now I’m thinking maybe it had to do with the fact that he realized that he was in one of his worst conditions the previous week that he wanted to give Paul a better impression of his mental/emotional status and that is why he looked and acted so optimistic, as if everything was under control and he was finally accepting and understanding himself. This was a weird episode. For a moment, Ale made it seem as if he were gay. He kept on making all of these references to when he was back in the war and how he just wanted to shove a missile through his rear, and he made A LOT connections about sticking things through a rear and suddenly he stops and realizes how gay he sounds and says “Is this it? Am I a faggot? My father says only faggots go to therapists” Isn’t it insane The poor guy could not even go to therapy together and be himself because in the back of his head al he is thinking is “I’m a faggot for doing this” How can an activity be fully productive if when one is doing it, is constantly feeling guilty about it? He said that maybe he was gay and that is why he had lousy sex with Laura and could not take his wife to bed. He no longer felt attracted to her as much as he used to and mentioned that a few nights ago, they had met over dinner under a five star hotel and she really wanted him. But he completely turned her down and went to Georgetown with his gay friends from the navy. Now I thought this was interesting and was expecting for him to say that yes, he had had sex with one of them, but he didn’t. In fact he told Paul that he had never felt attracted to men. But that the reason of why he chose to go with his gay fiends that night was because they just weren’t afraid of being themselves.

So here we have, tough guy who can identify with gay men NOT because he is gay himself but because he is envious of their lack of self-consciousness. The fact that they seem to have no secrets fascinates him. He is drawn to them and he doesn’t even understand why, and it confuses him.

I guess we will never know if Alex was gay or not. Is not like he affirmed that he did not have sex, in fact, he did say that his friends put on gay pornography but he seemed so unconcerned about it, as if it were cartoons on the T.V and he just really did not care for it. I give this episode a 5. It was a frustrating, earnest episode. He cried. Cried about the way his father raised him to be tough, how he would take him out of his private school on the weekends and drive him to the ghetto so he could value what he had. He also got jumped and robbed and cried to his father about it. In return he got slapped for it and had to walk home barefoot so he could learn a lesson.

This is the episode that REALLY showed the reasons of why Alex killed himself. He was a wreck inside, that didn’t know where to go or who to be. Not week 7. The confident Alex wasn’t the real Alex, the Alex that committed suicide was the unaccomplished men stuck on a tough body could not deal with himself any longer.

Laura- Episode 26 week 6. ENLIGHTENING.

OH EM GEE. I think that confusing week 6 for week 8 by mistake was the most awesome thing I’ve done!!! Hahaha. It is like in the movies when they show you the future before the past and then a bunch of scenes start playing explaining why it is that the character(s) have gotten to the point they are now. NOW I understand week 7 AND 8. This is great. It made it more exciting to watch because now Im finding out about little secrets that I had no clue about and can think of weeks 7 and 8 and be like “Ohhhhhhhh! Why hasn’t she said anything or why did he say something,” etc.

So I think week six is going to be a VERY important week. At least the opening episode was. This is when Paul FINALLY confesses to Laura that e is in love with her! THIS IS BIG! God, I don’t know how I naturally watched week 7 and 8 and did not even wonder what had happened to Laura’s and Paul’s relationship. I guess I really did not care about them making progress what’s so ever. I really just did not want them to. Haha. The only thing I was confused about was about Alex’s sudden death, and that was cleared in week 7, when I thought it was just some strategic decision of the producer to show us him dying first, then introducing us to his father and THEN, showing us the therapy before he died. I thought it was “closure for the viewer” haha, SILLY! Although it would not have been a bad choice, look at me now, feeling completely accomplished for finally putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Anyway, back to Laura, which was not too compelling. She goes into therapy and after Paul tells her he loves her, she reacts completely rational, which I did not expect at all. Paul begins to tell her about how he fell in love with someone much more older than he when he was about Laura’s age when she fell in love with David, the dude from California. Paul says that he actually told his teacher that he loved her, and the teacher acceded for him to kiss her, but being the wise kid Paul was, he an away form the office instead. After he is finished, Laura starts talking about David again. During week 5 she had confessed that she had lost it to him but that sje was totally in control and wanted him to make love to her, but that isn’t the case now. In fact, she remembers it with sorrow. She said that all she wanted was for David to take her away from home, not to have sex with her. That the night at his room, David kept on mentioning how beautiful she was, and how he thought that she was ready. He had an erection and told her that she had been the cause of that, and that her body was beautiful and from then, then we all know what happened.

After being finished with her anecdote. Laura breaks down. She hugs Paul, and tries to kiss him but Paul refuses. (Now I can understand why Paul old Ian in week 7 that nothing had happened with the woman he was in love with). Laura got upset and said that she had ruined it all by trying to kiss him and Paul explained that she hadn’t but that he believed that David had cased Laura to think that no man would want her, and that she would not connect with any male unless it was sexually. He said that he was not going to let her down like David had and that is why he refused getting physical with her.

Laura doesn’t really understand of course. All she can see is that Paul doesn’t want her, so she storms out of the office and guess what? There was Kate taking out the garbage, and there was Laura, looking beautiful and glamorous. Kate’s facial expression was meaningful! It was as if she knew something, as if she suspected that that was the woman Paul was in love with, but it is very weird because in week 7 or 8, she never mentioned anything about seeing her. We will see what happens.

I give this episode a 4. It was great that Paul came clean but it was also such a mechanical episode I mean, if Paul was really crazy in love like he claims to be in weeks 7 and 8, why didn’t he do anything in week 6? Well actually, now I can understand his flirtatiousness at Alex’s funeral during week 8! See, this is great!!! Has made it so much more dramatic and encouraging at the same time. I LOVE IT. I feel like Sherlock Holmes finding clue in order to solve a mystery. LOL.

OKAY, NOW I’VE MADE SORT OF A MESS, BUT NOT REALLY, I WILL EXPLAIN.

So, for some inexplicable reason, I watched week 8 in place of week 6 and totally thought it was week six obviously, and blogged as episodes 25-30 when in reality I was watching episodes 35-4o. So yes, I watched ahead and did not even notice.

It did nor mess up my understanding of the show, AT ALL. If anything, if I had doubts about week 6, which in reality was week 8, after watching week 7, there’s just an overflow of enlightenment. Feels great.

Episode 35-Gina week 7.

Great episode. Gets a 5. It focused only on two issues, which is unusual for a Friday episode. They’re usually all over the place, with Paul summing up what went on during the week and then talking about his own issues, etc, it becomes eternal. But this episode went by fast, with back to back dialogue between Paul and Kate, yes, she’s back. I love her.

They start off talking about the whole Rome situation and how they have just recently told the kids about it. Paul did not know that when Rosie had come up to him at the office she had already spoken to Kate about it and this made him upset. On the other hand, Kate didn’t know that Paul had told Ian, but did not even mention Kate’s name so she gets upset for not being considered when he took the decision of telling their older son. Kate explains that she decided to go back to therapy because she just couldn’t get through him at home which I find totally sad, I mean, Paul still barely tries to communicate with her. I don’t know what he’s thinking.

Anyway, he reproaches Kate for not telling him that she has told Rosie about the situation and explains Ian’s reaction to her. He mentions that he took it hard but that somehow understood Paul. Paul told her how the kids feel about her, which is, the are tired and used to her nagging and Kate quickly comes back, which was great. She asks him if he really knows how their kids feel and what they’re up to. She says that he has been absent for the past decade and that he claims that he knows Rosie and swears that she’s this virginal girl who has never used drugs. And this is where it gets funny and Paul get ridiculed, hahaha. Turns out Rosie is not a virgin, and she’s been on the pill for quite a while now (Kate took her to the gynecologist herself) and has smoked pot at concerts with her friends. Paul FLIPS OUT, “What a great mother you are, telling her it is okay and no even coming to me about it. Does Ian smoke pot too?” And Kate just gives him a look and is just like, “Is that a serious question, he lives at his College, common.” DUH! Wake up Paul. I Loved this part of the episode, it is just like a slap in the face. A wake up call to how much he has been absent from reality, period. It isn’t hard breaking, but it is very sad. I mean, people literally put their lives/mental health on this man’s hands and his personal life is a complete mess. Man he must be a good therapist to be so oblivious to what goes on under his nose and still manage to give some “good advice”.

The second half of therapy was also great. Gina asks them to do “imago” which is some sort of “POP PSYCHOLOGY” used in the 80’s and what it basically consists of is talking to each other and repeating what the other person has said. It is reflecting back on what you think you’ve heard, I guess it is an effective way to test selective hearing. The point is, they did very well. Kate ended up saying how she knows that they have gotten to where they are now not only because of Paul but because of herself. She says that her giving nature always made her worry about being a girlfriend, a wife, a mother and never Kate. Therefore, whatever happened with Edward was a mere reaction to her losing herself as an individual. Paul perfectly understands her and reflects back that ever since she became a mother, she forgot about herself, and Kate agrees.

When it is Paul’s turn he says that his attraction to Laura might be a reaction to what Kate has been feeling all of these years and that he is very afraid. He is terrified because he’s had patience in the same situation and often the best solution is for them to take off, to leave and find themselves. To this, Kate reflects back that she heard that Paul is afraid of losing her. LOL. And he refutes and denies it of course.

Gina’s conclusion sets it all clear on the table. Kate’s decision to run away with another man is a reaction to her selfless nature, a complex that has existed in her even before she met Paul and Paul, well her conclusion about Paul is even more interesting. She says that it has to do with his father and how after he left them, he felt obligated to care for his mother and nurture her with the love that his father wasn’t able t give her but it was never enough for her, and it backfired because in Paul’s struggle of trying to provide love, he was neglected of his mother’s affection. And that is why he ran to Kate, because Kate could given him that motherly love he never had but at the same time he is so afraid of losing it that he tries to protect it by not being consumed by it and drowning himself into his work and knowing that she’s always there and keeping her at arms’ reach, not any closer. She concludes by saying that reason why he is attracted to Laura is because she is a young girl who looks up to him and she could nurture, just like used to.

This episode was VERY productive and enlightening. Paul knows how Kate feels and vise versa and not only that, but Gina has also explained to them why it is they have been acting they way they have. How amazing is this? I need to go to a therapist myself so he/she could tell me what is it I am doing with my life.

The episode concludes with Paul getting a phone call and making a dramatic, terrified face. We will see what this is about.

Episode 34- Jake and Amy week 7.

Oh no, what a sad episode. It gets a 5 right away. I’ve already made quite clear how much I enjoy their acting.

So cute little Jake (not literally) comes in with the softest face on earth. He just looks as if he’s had an encounter with God and is the most humble individual walking on the phase of the earth. Soft spoken, says Hi to Paul and explains that Amy is parking the car, that she should be inside in a minute. For a moment, Jake’s attitude gives us the hope that things are going okay between him and Amy. They drove to therapy together and he says it is part of their new compromise, to be agreeable. So Amy walks in and already she’s being hostile, which totally shatters the hopes I had of a peaceful, loving therapy. She apologizes for being late and said that she had to make up for coming in early the past therapy. Jake didn’t know about it so he casually questions her and she just loses it from there, and until the end of the session. She verbally aggresses Jake nonstop, making comments such as “Hit me Jake. Oh that’s the face he makes when he’s going to hit something Paul watch out. You’ve become a tranquilizer lately, at least you used to grab my ass when before every time I would get home.” And Jake is just sitting there like, “What the f?” He mentions that they have had a great week, have not even been arguing about Lenny, made her dinner every night then had wine out in the cellar he is truly puzzled and suddenly asks what’s wrong. Jake states that he has been bending backwards to accommodate her and give her what she wants and asks her what else does she need because he is content, he already has what he needs and that’s her. Then she starts again saying “I, I , I its all about you Jake” and I’m just thinking, he just finished saying everything he has done for you? Then Paul intervenes and asks her WHAT exactly does she want. And she stops. She stops and complains about this stomach pain, and Jake gets upset and says that those stupid cramps are always her escape goat. Amy goes on and explains that she has gotten those cramps before, and the strongest they ever were the day her father died. The situation is, she made her father go out for ice cream when she was a kid and he got killed by a car who ran him over while waiting outside of the ice cream shop. Ever since, her mother has not forgiven her, an of course she has not forgiven herself.

Now this incident is what will help explain the terrible deed she admitted to have done. SHE HAS CHEATED ON JAKE, WITH HER BOSS. Oh my God, I could not even look at Jake, weeping like a little kid.

Amy said that she and her boss had gone out for a few drinks then kicked it back to the office, where they had sex on the floor and she felt filthy. She said that she felt like a dirty slut and kept on wondering why she was doing what she was doing but could not make herself stop. When he was done, he got up and told her to lock up, he was going home because he was tired. GROSS. Ugh, I cant even begin to think how she must have felt, cheated on her husband with a jerk who wasn’t even worth it and made her feel like a prostitute on top of it all. Man, I wish I could console her, what a dumb move. I really hope this doesn’t cost her her marriage, although it should.

Now getting back to the whole father incident, Jake starts asking Paul in the midst of sobs why she did it. Paul’s conclusion is, she could not handle Jake’s sudden tenderness and dedication, she has never forgiven herself for being the cause of her father’s death ands she feels unworthy of being loved so she decided to punish herself by degrading herself with the most despicable person known to her in order to make herself pay for her guilt. GENIUS? Paul does it again.

The episode ends with Amy saying that it only happened once, and that it wont happen again. That Jake has all the right to hit her, and divorce her, that se deserves it. (Here she goes with punishing herself again). We will see where this will lead, now, they’re at the brink of divorce again. I just want to see how far Jake’s love for her goes, I love him. I could hardly wait until the next episode.
